Hand Fan Terms Defined
Handfan Types
Stock Shape Fans are fan shapes for which we already have a custom die in stock, such as round hand fans, square hand fans, heart shaped hand fans, and many more.
Custom Shaped Fans are fan shapes for which we do not have a custom die in stock. This could be a fan in the shape of your company logo, or whatever other shape you need. Some examples are shown above.
Single Sided Fans are hand fans that have print on the front side only. The number of colors depends on your design and requirements. We can print a 1-color fan or up to full-color process on the single sided fan. The reverse side of the hand fan would be a blank white (all of our printed fans are on white card stock) and you would see the basswood handle on the reverse side.
Double Sided Fans are hand fans that have print on both sides of a single sheet of paper. Like the single sided fans, the number of colors depends on your design and requirements. We can print a 1-color fan or up to full-color process on the double sided fans. You still would see the basswood handle on the reverse side.
Sandwiched Fans are hand fans that have print on two sides, but are made with two sheets of paper. This gives you a full second surface on the reverse, because the handle is sandwiched in between the two sheets and isn’t visible on the fan. Again, the number of colors depends on your design and requirements. We can print a combination of colors on the front and back. You could have a full-color front and 1-color print on the reverse, or any combination of colors on the sandwiched fan. The reverse side of the sandwiched fan typically is printed, but also can be left blank if desired.
Church Fans are stock shaped and preprinted (front side only) fans we have readily available. We can print your custom design or text on the reverse. Church hand fans are single sided only.
